We thank you, God,
for giving us everything we need to survive (specifically, chocolate). If we did not have these blessings, we could not survive. Having our homes stuffed like a teddybear with all our stuff gives us new reasons to worship you every day. We are grateful for having a home, family, food and water. The earth is special to us. Trees give us food, fruits, shelter, chocolate, wood and air so that we can breathe in your greatness. We are thankful for all of this. Perhaps we have committed the sin of selfishness by indulging ourselves when others cannot. Thank you for giving us things we need to survive. We recognize that not everyone on earth has what we have. We thank you for all the resources we have and invite the congregation to join us in thanksgiving. We will worship you every day of our lives as we thank you for all of our gifts. Amen. |
Why should we, as Christians, care for and about the earth? What does the Bible tell us about stewardship of the earth? (Is there really a section on climate change?) How are we at FPCY doing at taking care of earth's resources? Join us this month as we explore our responsibility to steward earth's resources and help our congregation to become faithfully green - indoors and out. The earth's future is our future. Bring a friend who cares. |
